Histrionics
The
world is so cruel! You have been stranded here at a cocktail
party, and no one is gallant enough to offer to escort you
home. Don't they understand that you've been here for hours?
Your poor little dog may die if you don't get home to walk
and feed him. You know he misses you so much.
A
girlfriend suggests you call a taxi-as if you could be seen
leaving the party alone! What is she thinking? And no, you
don't want her to give you a lift; you want a man to take
you home. You have the espresso machine and brandy all set
up in the living room. You just need to find someone . .
. yes, like him-that handsome man who just walked in, the
one with the movie star looks: there's no ring on his finger
or woman in sight. You break off the conversation with your
girlfriend and head across the room. Maybe you could stay
a little longer after all.
